The U.S. tuna industry embraced and vigorously promoted the "dolphin-safe" program that was initiated in the early 1990's. The U.S. Tuna Foundation and its members continue to stand firm on the commitment they made in the early 1990's to sell only "dolphin-safe" tuna.
"We are committed to providing the U.S. consumer with the quality tuna products they have come to expect and will not waiver from that commitment," stated Foundation Executive Director Dave Burney.
U.S. Tuna Foundation is the national organization representing the processors, manufacturers and fishermen of canned tuna.
